Abstract

The early determination of the characteristics of the acoustic projects is an activity that becomes increasingly common and necessary. For this early determination the most viable way is computationally simulates these spaces to verify their performance. In addition to the surfaces sound absorption of a space, the sound diffusion characteristics are also an important information that influences its acoustical performance. The sound diffusion of a surface can be direct correlated on the simulation programs with the sound scattering coefficient. Experimentally obtaining these sound scattering coefficients is a very important activity for creating a database of diffuse materials. In this work the results from the sound scattering coefficient determination of three continuous surface were determined in a 1:5 scaled reverberant room from LACAF of UNICAMP. These samples will be used for a scattering coefficient determination comparative using scaled rooms from the LACAF-UNICAMP; from Civil Engineering Laboratory of UTFPR and the Acoustical Laboratory from UFSM.
